While solar panels can provide the electricity a space probe needs, it requires a propellant to actually move, and ultra-efficient ion engines aren’t the answer since they need expensive Xenon gas. Meet the World is Not Enough (WINE) experiment by the University of Central Florida and Honeybee Robotics. This steam-powered spacecraft is designed to fly to an asteroid, conduct research and mine for water at the same time. Once refueled, it can move onto its next objective or asteroid.

This most certainly isn’t the first Lamborghini Aventador knockoff, but it’s the first one we’ve seen that started its life as a four-door Honda Accord. Built by Executive Modcar Trendz, the sedan’s body was completely stripped and replaced with custom fiberglass pieces, with some quirks. The roof is much higher and the engine cover as well as decklid descend at a much steeper angle that its real-life supercar counterpart. Read more for a video, additional pictures and information.
Elon Musk has just unveiled the completed Starship prototype (above) ahead of Friday’s big event. SpaceX is set to launch 10 Iridium NEXT satellites from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. This would be the eighth and final set of satellites in a series of 75 total satellites that SpaceX will launch for Iridium’s next generation global satellite constellation, Iridium NEXT. Iridium is currently the only satellite communications network that spans the entire globe, and Iridium NEXT is one of the largest “tech upgrades” in space history, since the process of replacing the satellites individually in a constellation of this size and scale has never been done before. Bungie officially announced today that it’s parting ways with Activision Publishing and will self-publish all future Destiny titles. They partnered in 2010 after Bungie sold its Halo rights to Microsoft and started work on what would become 2014’s mega successful online multiplayer / shooter RPG hybrid called Destiny. The franchise’s downfall may be somewhat due to the popularity of free-to-play games like Fortnite and PubG that make all of its revenue with microtransactions. “Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activision will increase their focus on owned IP projects,” said Bungie. Earth’s north magnetic pole is suddenly moving and scientists involved in tracking its motions don’t know why. The Earth’s magnetic field extends from the planet’s interior out into space, where it meets the solar wind, a stream of charged particles emanating from the Sun, and serves to deflect most of the solar wind, whose charged particles would otherwise strip away the ozone layer. “The magnetic pole is moving so quickly that it has forced the world’s geomagnetism experts into a rare move,” said science journal Nature.
