Hennessey Performance Engineering VelociRaptor V8 Engine

Hennessey Performance Engineering has just revealed the VelociRaptor V8, which is based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, but replaces the EcoBoost V6 with a supercharged version of Ford’s new 5.0-liter V8 engine. This upgraded engine is now supercharged, running at seven pounds of boost, producing 758 horsepower (557 hp at the wheels), mated to a 10-speed automatic from a V8-powered F-150. Suspension wise, you get an eight-inch lift, red Brembo brake calipers, and a set of 37-inch tires wrapped around 20-inch wheels. Hennessey also added a stainless steel cat-back exhaust for that extra engine growl, helping it achieve a 0-60 miles per hour time of just 4.1 seconds and cover the quarter mile in a mere 12.2 seconds at an impressive 115 mph.

“John Hennessey admits there are a couple downsides to the VelociRaptor, though. First, it’s apparently quite a hit with at least 20 orders already, and the waiting line means that your delivery wouldn’t be until around May, if you place an order right now. There’s also the issue of price because the total cost of getting one of these trucks is about $150,000, depending on options,” said Motor 1.
