There’s walking sharks, and then this extremely rare shot of a shark jumping out of water behind surfer Tyler Warren at San Onofre beach captured by photographer Jordan Anast. He thought it was a dolphin at first, but only realized it was a great white shark while editing the photos from the surf club contest.
Jordan specializes in surf photography, so he’s no stranger to San Onofre beach, which makes this shot even more special. The San Onofre Surfing Club not only aims to preserve their surfing heritage, but also protect the access and help ensure this historic beach, along with its surf breaks remain in their natural state for generations to come.

Photography is an interesting thing, it is surreal to me as you never know what you will get. When I shoot I have a sense of peace as I have no worries and time seems to stand still,” said Jordan Anast.
