When you first watch Pixel, dancers in front of a green screen with digital effects added in post-editing might come to mind, but all of this was filmed in real-time. Created by French performance artists Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne, this hour-long performance utilizes interactive digital projections that have been carefully 3D-mapped, 11 dancers, and claims to be “a work on illusion combining energy and poetry, fiction and technical achievement, hip hop and circus.” These virtual projections double as partners for the performers.
