Another year, another April Fools’ Day joke, and this one showcases the fictional Pokémon Sleep World Champions Tournament. If this were to be a real event, it would involve players competing to fall asleep as fast as possible and getting a good artistry score, or style points.
Pokémon Sleep is not a joke, but rather a real sleep-tracking app that rewards the user with Pokémon depending on the quality of their sleep. This game of sorts was first released in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Latin American countries for Android and iOS on July 17, 2023. Players can also use the Pokémon Go Plus+ to play sounds to remind the player of their bedtime, as well as to track sleep without needing to turn their device on.
