Polaroid Go Generation 3 Smallest Analog Instant Camera
Polaroid has taken its smallest instant camera and made meaningful changes to the parts that matter most during actual use. The Go Generation 3 keeps the pocket-friendly body while sharpening the lens performance and boosting flash power so everyday moments turn into better prints.

The camera’s compact size explains why it can travel so easily. Its dimensions are 106.5 millimeters tall, 83.8 millimeters wide, and 64.6 millimeters deep. Without the film pack, the package weighs 252 grams. That puts it in an excellent position because it can fit into a jacket pocket or a small pocketbook, is somewhat larger than a clementine but smaller than an apple, and is light enough that most people will bring it rather than leave it behind.

With five different color options available, buyers can easily find a hue that complements their style. Black, white, teal, purple, and light blue all have the same new design and layout. The shell is made of sturdy ABS and polycarbonate materials that feel durable yet do not add extra weight. The new polycarbonate lens on top is buried deeper within the shell than previously, reducing glare and reflections when shooting in bright light. Polaroid claims that this results in crisper photos and higher contrast, especially when capturing close-up subjects.

It has fixed focus, so there’s no need to fiddle with menus or focus rings that slow you down. The design is geared at capturing a good image at arm’s length, which is how most people shoot photos with a camera this small anyhow. The flash power has also been boosted, making it far more dependable in low light, huge crowds, or mixed lighting conditions. Stine Bauer Dahlberg, Polaroid’s chief product officer, says the team prioritized improving the optical system, adding a more powerful flash, and refining the camera for close-up images while keeping excellent performance in all lighting conditions.

You still get all of the standard creative features, like a little mirror on the front for self-portraits and group shots at arm’s length, a self-timer mode, and, if you want to be a bit more creative, a double exposure mode for layering two images onto one print.

Each time you press the shutter, a little instant print will appear on a piece of Polaroid Go film with an image area of roughly 47 by 46 millimeters inside the iconic white border frame. These little prints develop in the open air in a few minutes and are relatively cheap to make, especially when compared to larger Polaroid formats. Because of their small size, the finished prints are perfect for keeping in a diary, wallet, or on the refrigerator door. The entire process feels refreshingly simple: frame up through the optical viewfinder, press the big red shutter button, and watch the print come out the bottom. You can even use it repeatedly because it includes an internal lithium-ion battery that recharges between uses; however, don’t expect any apps, Bluetooth, or anything else because this is completely analog.

At $89.99, this camera makes instant photography more accessible to wider range of enthusiasts. Extra film packs can also be purchased individually, usually in double packs of 16 exposures, making them suitable for spontaneous weekends or trips abroad. The full collection is already available in all five colors through Polaroid’s own store, and it will be accessible in additional stores by mid-June.
