While auto enthusiasts wait for the Porsche Mission S concept to become a reality, they can watch Lars Kern set a new 7:07.55 Nürburgring lap record in a pre-production Porsche Taycan. This refresh is expected to be announced in March, complete with a rumored tri-motor setup making over 1,000hp.
For comparison, this lap time is 26 seconds faster than the previous one set by Kern in 2022 driving a Taycan Turbo S Sport sedan equipped with the performance package. There were no performance upgrades added to the pre-production Taycan, just a roll cage for safety reasons, along with racing bucket seats.

Twenty-six seconds is half an eternity in motorsport. Lars’ lap time of 7:07.55 minutes on the Nordschleife is sensational, putting the Taycan in the same league as electric hypercars. And the impressive thing about it is that over several laps, Lars clocked almost exactly the same time,” said Kevin Giek, Head of Porsche Taycan Line
