Sector D2’s Project Wingman: Frontline 59 hit the PS VR2 today, and this game lets you pilot advanced fighter jets in virtual reality. Navigating through a war-ravaged Earth, players will have to dodge railguns and geothermal weapons, while striking against mechanized fortresses using gatling guns as well as wing-mounted rocket launchers.
This isn’t just a flight simulator, as Project Wingman: Frontline 59 has all-new content built with virtual reality in mind, over the course of an estimated 2-3 hours of new gameplay. Best of all, PlayStation 5 players can take part in these missions without a headset. There are over 20 different aircraft and over 40 unique weapons to choose from, ideal for pick-up-and-play action.

Project Wingman has always felt like it would be a natural fit for virtual reality, and it’s been a thrill to have the chance to bring that vision to life with the PS VR2. Our goal with Wingman has always been to make people feel like awesome, cutting-edge flying aces, and the VR2 features really help take that to the next level—whether you’re using eye-tracking technology to help pinpoint targets in a chaotic battlefield, or feeling the rush of high-speed passes against pilots who want you dead,” said Abi Rahmani, Lead Developer, Sector D2.
