Pyramid Mountain Antarctica
Remember the bizarre pyramid mountain in Antarctica that made the internet rounds many years ago? Well, it turns out that the structure just might be a natural formation after all. Geologists believe that it’s just a nunatak, or a peak of rock protruding above a glacier or an ice sheet, but this one just so happens to be pyramid-shaped.

There are many users on social media that believe it is a man-made structure left over from a civilization that existed before a great flood around 10,000-years ago when Antarctica was warm. However, geology professor Eric Rignot states that natural pyramid shapes are not impossible, but the difference is that the mountain only has one or two faces like that, rarely four.

The pyramid-shaped structures are located in the Ellsworth Mountains, which is a range more than 400 km long, so it’s no surprise there are rocky peaks cropping out above the ice. The peaks are clearly composed of rock, and it’s a coincidence that this particular peak has that shape,” said Dr Mitch Darcy, geologist at the German Research Center for Geosciences in Potsdam to IFLScience.
