Real World of Warcraft Shackled Shadows Robot Balancing
Ever wonder what a World of Warcraft Shackled Shadows creature would look like in real-life? If so, then wonder no more, as inventor James Bruton has created just that, complete with a ball-balancing system.

Think of this as a supersized version of the BB-8 droid, as this Shackled Shadow robot balances on a ball using three omni-wheels mounted 120 degrees apart. The wheels are powered by large ODrive brushless DC motors, paired with ODrive drivers for simple control via a Teensy 4.1 development board. Put simply, its drive system moves the base to counteract any tipping force, while Dynamixel servo motors give it the ability to move its head and its arms.

Lovely build, looks really good. Would have been great to get those lovely hands opening and closing. A really simple way is to use hose tubing with v cuts at each knuckle joint half way through. A bit of fishing line tied to the tip and fed back through the tube closes the finger as its pulled,” said one commenter.
