Honda Baiku Self-Balancing Electric Scooter
Automotive designer Nacho Alfonso García has been intrigued by Cyberpunk culture, and what better way to combine his two passions than by updating the Honda Motocompo. That’s right, Honda actually released a folding scooter that was sold between 1981–1983 and introduced as a “trunk bike” since it fit inside the City’s baggage compartment. If you look hard enough, at least a handful of the 53,369 Motocompos produced are on the market. What if the company were to introduce a self-balancing, one-wheeled electric scooter?

At first glance, this appears to be a robot of sorts, but at the push of a button the seat comes out of its boxy body and the touchscreen OLED panel lights up. The design is kept simple with just LED lights up front and some pedals to keep the rider well balanced. All of the technical information is at your fingertips once your smartphone is connected, including a music player, GPS navigation, etc.
