RED Hydrogen One

RED, a company best known for its high-end cinema cameras used on such blockbusters as “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2,” and “The Martian,” is releasing a smartphone called “Hydrogen One” in 2018. It will run Google’s Android operating system, but what really sets it apart is a 5.7-inch “hydrogen holographic display” that displays 3D “holographic” content without the need for special glasses. That’s not all, the handset also features a modular camera unit that can be swapped out for other modules on the fly for “higher-quality motion and still images.” When released, users will be able to choose from either a $1,200 aluminum model or a $1,600 titanium model.
