Programmer Reuben “Reubs” Ward spent nearly a year developing a full The Simpsons Hit & Run Remake in Unreal Engine 5, turning the 2003 action-adventure game into an open-world masterpiece. The original plan was to feature online multiplayer, interconnected maps and improved vehicle physics, but not all of them could be implemented, or at least in the way originally intended.
This remake is fully playable and lets you experience the game by car, on foot, complete missions, and even samples real audio dialogue for its characters. One caveat: it will not be available for public download, as it would most certainly receive a cease and desist order immediately from The Walt Disney Company, who now owns the rights. Radical Entertainment, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, may see this remake and decide to collaborate with Reubs on an official game.
