BBC reports that Iceland, the most sparsely populated country in Europe with a population of 325,671 and an area of 103,000 km2, has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the world. Their police officers are all unarmed, partially due to ‘hard drugs’ usage being low and tensions between economic classes virtually non-existent.
