Revealed during the Unpacked event today, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is now official and the thinnest as well as lightest Fold smartphone yet. The first thing you’ll notice is an upgraded Taskbar, which offers dynamic productivity by enabling users to quickly switch between up to four frequently used apps. This means that an app can continue running in the background, letting users to watch video content in full screen and chat with friends in a floating pop-up on the side of the screen.
Hardware wise, the base model features an Infinity Flex 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (2176 x 1812) display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (2316 x 904) cover screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage, a rear triple camera (12MP Ultra-Wide + 50MP Wide + 10MP Telephoto), a 10MP selfie camera, a 4MP under display camera, and a 4,400mAh battery with Wireless PowerShare. Available for pre-order starting today, priced from $1799.99 USD, with shipments beginning on August 11.
