The all-new Samsung LPCAMM (Low Power Compression Attached Memory Module) improves performance while taking 60% less space in laptops. These memory modules aim to revolutionize the DRAM market for PCs, laptops, and potentially even data centers.
LPCAMM is essentially a detachable module that allows more efficient use of devices’ internal space while also improving performance by up to 50% and power efficiency by up to 70%. Its power-saving technology also makes it an attractive option for servers, since they could potentially improve total cost of operation (TCO) efficiency. LPCAMM will be tested using next-generation systems with major customers later this year, and a commercial release is planned for 2024.
