You might have seen the Samsung Premiere 5, a small ultra-short-throw (UST) projector, at CES 2025, and now it’s finally out in Korea. It stands out with a cool touch interaction feature that turns flat surfaces into touchscreens, making it special in the projector world.
With an infrared camera and laser module, the Premiere 5 can track up to 10 touch points at once, letting you use projected images like a smartphone touchscreen. This works thanks to Samsung’s LightWARP tech, which projects interactive displays onto things like tables, walls, or floors. You can play games, use learning apps, or control smart home gadgets with moves like pinching to zoom or tapping.

It’s a triple-laser UST projector that can show a 100-inch image from just 43 cm (about 17 inches) away. Earlier reports mentioned 4K, but newer info says it’s 1080p Full HD with 560 ISO lumens brightness, supporting HDR10+ and HLG. It covers 154% of the DCI-P3 color range and has a 450,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

Running Tizen OS 9.0 with One UI, it gives access to streaming apps (Netflix, YouTube, Samsung TV Plus), Samsung Gaming Hub for cloud gaming, and SmartThings for managing smart home devices. Vision Booster tech automatically tweaks brightness, contrast, and color based on the room’s lighting.

Connectivity wise, you get two micro HDMI ports (one with eARC), a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2. It also supports screen mirroring from smartphones or tablets should you want to watch some YouTube on the big screen. Don’t have external speakers? Fear not, as it comes equipped with a 10W dual-speaker system boasting Dolby Atmos for 360-degree sound, doubling as a Bluetooth speaker when the screen is off.

It’s small, measuring 136.7 x 200.9 x 139.1 mm (with stand) and weighing 3.7 lbs, so it’s easy to move around. Plus, it comes with a tabletop stand for flexible projection angles and has auto-focus, auto-keystone correction, and fit-to-screen for simple setup. The remote charges with a solar cell. The Premiere 5 launched in South Korea on April 28, 2025, for KRW 1.99 million (about $1,383 USD), available through Samsung’s online and physical stores in the region.
