Unlike the AMD Radeon RX 7600, this rare sealed 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 AGP graphics card is far from budget friendly, or at least today. It was originally launched on June 22, 2000, priced at $299 USD ($527.46 in 2023), and built on the 250nm process, using the VSA-100 graphics processor. The card supports DirectX 6.0, so you won’t be able to run the latest games without issues or at all for that matter.
The 5500 AGP combines two graphics processors in one card to increase performance, with 2 pixel shaders, 2 texture mapping units, and 2 ROPs, per GPU. Since there aren’t unified shaders you will not be able to run the latest games, all of which require unified shader / DX10+ support. 3dfx paired 64MB SDR memory with the Voodoo5 5500 AGP, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 32 MB), operating at a frequency of 166 MHz.
