Two men were detained by Hong Kong authorities after they discovered that their van filled with live lobsters was being used to smuggle 70 NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards. This happened as they were trying to cross the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which is basically a 34-mile collection of roads, bridges, and tunnels around the Pearl River Delta.
A total of 617-pounds of live lobsters as well as NVIDIA Quadro K2200 series graphics cards were found, and estimated to be worth $76,500 USD. Since the graphics cards are a bit dated and from the mid-2010s, they most likely would not appeal to cryptocurrency miners, AI experts, or even gamers for that matter. The cards are based on Maxwell architecture, complete with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM with a 128 but memory interface.
