3D-Printed Camera

There are 3D-printed houses, cars, food, and now, 35mm cameras. Called “SLO”, this is the world’s first 3D-printed 35mm camera with interchangeable lenses. The components consist of: a film cartridge, film path, film take-up spools, shutter, aperture plane, lens, film access door, and a lightproof box. Thanks to its modular design, the lens and shutter systems can easily be replaced, while an indicator up top shows how much film is remaining in the roll. Behind the lens is an adjustable aperture system, in which the user can expose shots using two different shutter buttons. Click here to view the first image in this week’s geek life gallery.
