This fan Sonic Adventure 2 remake in Unreal Engine 5 by some dedicated fans is set to get a playable demo in the near future, but for now, the developers have provided us with a teaser of the City Escape level. The finished project will let fans experience Metal Harbor, Final Chase, Pumpkin Hill, and more, complete with real-time path tracing.
Sonic Adventure 2 was originally released on the SEGA Dreamcast in 2001 and features two good-vs-evil stories. The first one includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles “Tails” Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna attempting to save the world, while the second has Shadow the Hedgehog, Doctor Eggman, as well as Rouge the Bat are trying to conquer it. This looks incredible- actually like SanFrancisco too, which is amazing. SEGA please hire JeliLiam, for bringing back City Escape in the future- so we can get updated visuals and the actual cities- realistically with Sonic blowing thru them! This is the standard levels today should be at,” said one fan.
