Microsoft has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” film to release a custom Xbox Series S console and Xbox Wireless Controllers. Unfortunately (or fortunately), these items cannot be purchased, but are offered through enter–to-win sweepstakes. The bizarre game controllers sport textured coatings reminiscent of the “bristly” texture of real-life hedgehogs in the wild in Sonic Blue and Knuckles Red.
Now the custom-built black Xbox Series S console does not have that strange textured coating, although it does feature a golden portal ring glistening on its surface alongside an embossed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 logo. On a related note, Microsoft is also releasing a Sonic the Hedgehog Minecraft DLC available for download in the Minecraft Marketplace on April 5th.
