Sony first released the PS2 on March 4, 2000 in Japan, and since then, it went on to become the best-selling home video game console of all-time, with 160 million units sold worldwide. With that said, it would most certainly be fitting for the company to re-release the console for its 25th anniversary next year.
This fan-made reveal trailer by Gabriel Freire shows what could be possible if Sony decides to go that route and just re-release the PS2 Slim, possibly with a few modern goodies, like HDMI support. If a limited edition release does happen, expect to shell out at least two to three times the MSRP, which should be around $299+.
