SpaceX Starlink Satellite 60 Orbit
Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched an additional 60 Starlink satellites into orbit today (April 22nd) and made a perfect rocket landing at sea to complete the mission. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 3:30 p.m. EST from Launch Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center here, marking the 84th Falcon 9 flight. The flight today is the seventh operational Starlink mission, bringing the number of satellites launched thus far for the nascent internet broadband network up to a grand total of 422. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk states the company has plans to de-orbit its two Starlink test satellites, which launched as part of a rideshare mission in 2018. The minimum number of 400 Starlink satellites have been met, which means the company can begin rolling out minimal internet coverage, but at least 800 are required to provide moderate coverage.
