We’ve come a long way since the 1986 Chevrolet Navlab, and Stellantis’ STLA AutoDrive proves it. This Hands-Free and Eyes-Off (SAE Level 3) technology can be used at speeds of up to 37 mph, even at night and in adverse weather conditions.
It also boasts Level 2 (hands on) and Level 2+ (hands off, eyes on) capabilities at even higher speeds, including Adaptive Cruise Control as well as lane centering functions. This means drivers can temporarily engage in non-driving tasks like catching up on the news, check emails, read a book or simply just admire the scenery. As STLA AutoDrive evolves, it may support higher speed operation up to 59 mph and off-road capabilities in the future.
