Stream Video Game Boy
Modder Chromalock managed to stream video to a Game Boy Color and the experience is choppy to say the least. This isn’t a plug-and-play project either, as it required a custom Game Boy program that receives data over a link cable, and then displays it on the handheld’s screen as video.

However, for a computer to see it as a standard video device, a microcontroller, level shifter, and additional software needed to be installed. This also means that you can send any kind of video, including Twitch streams as well as modern games, over to the Game Boy Color. What kind of video? How about 512 kHz, which means 60fps in monochrome and an extremely choppy color experience.

With a LOT of effort it might be possible to write an algorithm for the color pallets and even compress the data in a way that the [Game Boy Color] might be able to decompress in real time to fit that in data,” said one commenter.
