T-Mobile SpaceX Starlink V2
T-Mobile has partnered with SpaceX to offer coverage in areas with little to no cell service using Elon Musk’s new Starlink V2 satellites. This means that even in the middle of nowhere such as in Death Valley or in any other national park, you’ll still be able to send and receive text messages.

To achieve this, several companies will work together to create a new network and then broadcast from Starlink’s satellites using T-Mobile’s mid-band spectrum nationwide. This satellite-to-cellular service is capable of providing nearly complete coverage almost anywhere with a clear view of the sky. When it launches, the beta will only include text messaging (SMS / MMS) and participating messaging apps. In the future, the companies will plan to add voice and data coverage. A definitive launch date was not provided, but it could be as soon as early next year. We have a feeling this will be a seamless experience, especially after SpaceX installed Starlink on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

We’ve always thought differently about what it means to keep customers connected, and that’s why we’re working with the best to deliver coverage above and beyond anything customers have ever seen before. More than just a groundbreaking alliance, this represents two industry-shaking innovators challenging the old ways of doing things to create something entirely new that will further connect customers and scare competitors,” said Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile.
