Weighing in at a hefty 38 pounds, Carter Hurd’s Taco Tuesday is basically a taco-shaped BattleBots robot made from HARDOX 450 steel. Its two motors can reportedly propel the robot at speeds of up to 250 mph, which may come in handy during battles.
Unlike other BattleBots, this 247 pound beast boasts a unique drive system where its two wheels are located perpendicular to one another. That’s right, a single wheel drives the robot forward and back, while the second one in the back turns it around. The exterior shell is made from 1″ thick UMHW plastic, with a 4″ air gap shielding its vital components held within the HARDOX 450 steel chassis. Those colorful red and green taco toppings you see are not edible, as they’re just colored pool noodle sections.
