We’ve seen Thor: Ragnarok with lightsabers, now check out Marvel World of Heroes, an AR game by Pokemon GO developer Niantic. Revealed at the D23 Expo today in Anaheim, this augmented reality experience lets players become their own unique Marvel superhero and extend gameplay into the real world.
Remember Disney’s Extreme Skate Adventure? If not, it is basically Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but with characters from Toy Story, The Lion King and Tarzan, released in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, as well as Xbox platforms. Why does it play so similar to THPS? Well, it actually uses the same game engine as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 made by Neversoft.
An Apple Watch lost by a woman while on a ride at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT theme park took an unexpected turn when the thief who found it knew that the tap-to-pay function did not require the connected iPhone or iPad. So, they started racking up charges, approximately $40,000 USD in all, with the linked American Express card found in Apple Wallet.
Disney+ just dropped the official trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi and it gives us a glimpse at Darth Vader. Put simply, we see how the Empire portrayed Kenobi’s “crime” to the public, which in the poster reveals “Offense – High Treason; Bounty – Upon Capture”. They want the exiled Jedi returned, including by his old friend Darth Vader himself.
Teams from Disney Research and the University of California, Santa Barbara have built a jumping robot capable of hopping nearly 100-feet (33-meters) in the air. The robot itself stands about 1-foot-tall (30 cm) and weighs in at just 30 grams, thanks to its carbon fiber construction, namely the bow, which acts as the spring in conjunction with rubber bands.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucasfilm’s new limited series, is set to debut exclusively on Disney+ starting May 25th. This series stars Ewan McGregor who reprises his role as the iconic Jedi Master traversing a barren desert. It takes place 10-years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which the Jedi MAster faced his greatest defeat, which is the downfall and corruption of his Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Anyone who grew up watching or is a fan of 1980s TV shows will appreciate “The Book of Boba Fett” reimagined in that same style by Auralnauts. We see Temuera Morrison starring as the title character Boba Fett, with Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) and Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) also making appearances. If you haven’t yet viewed the series on Disney+, it basically takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983).
Filmmaker Mark Eaton wanted to make his daughter’s birthday a bit more special, and what better way than by recreating two of her favorite attractions at Disneyland? After lots of work, he managed to recreate Star Tours and the Mad Tea Party attractions at home. The former is essentially a motion simulator that was built inside the garage area, complete with a StarSpeeder 1000 and Captain Rex.
