This Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble remake make look like an official SEGA release, but it’s just a fan project. It was originally released on the SEGA Game Gear in 1994 and is a side-scrolling platformer just like the previous Sonic games, but also follows Tails. Players can choose to control either Sonic or Tails through multiple zones, with each one consisting of three levels, with the last one containing a boss fight.
Sonic the Hedgehog superfan Barry Evans has spent the past three decades collecting items of SEGA’s blue hedgehog and it finally paid off. His collection of 3,050 items has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the ‘largest collection of Sonic the Hedgehog memorabilia’.
Sonic Frontiers is a 3D platformer and action-adventure game, but what if SEGA released it on the Genesis / Mega Drive back in the day? Wonder no more as a dedicated fan has created a 2D version of Sonic Frontiers that shows us just that and it even includes some of the new gameplay features in the upcoming 3D version.
A gamer who goes by ‘Squadaloo’ online has created a custom ‘Green Hill Zone’ Sonic the Hedgehog track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, complete with its very own soundtrack. Plus, you can actually play as Sonic too while driving by a large gravity-defying loop, gathering coins and collecting items.
Sonic Frontiers is coming out in Q4 2022, but one fan just couldn’t wait. So, they created a Sonic the Hedgehog tech demo in Unreal Engine 5, complete with Lumen, DLSS, and DLSS Sharpness. Lumen allowed ‘Detonando Gueek’ from Brazil to add glossy reflections on translucency, diffuse global illumination as well as shadowed skylight that can be seen in all reflections.
Set for release in Q4 2022, SEGA’s Sonic Frontiers will have players accelerating to new heights and experiencing the thrill of high velocity open-zone freedom, unlike any of the previous games. You’ll fight powerful enemies as you speed through the Starfall Islands, which includes landscapes filled with dense forests, overflowing waterfalls, sizzling deserts and more.
SEGA has just released a Sonic Origins gameplay trailer that previews Hidden Palace Zone as well as the refreshed menus. This collection includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, which have all been given a high definition remaster, along with several new areas to explore. It’s set for release next month (June 23) on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S / X, and Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” film to release a custom Xbox Series S console and Xbox Wireless Controllers. Unfortunately (or fortunately), these items cannot be purchased, but are offered through enter–to-win sweepstakes. The bizarre game controllers sport textured coatings reminiscent of the “bristly” texture of real-life hedgehogs in the wild in Sonic Blue and Knuckles Red.

At first glance, this appears to be a normal ADSP-2181 chip, but after some careful disassembly and under a microscope, Sonic the Hedgehog appears, or at least his face. This chip comes from a family of microcomputers from Analog Devices, and is optimized for digital signal processing (DSP), so you won’t find it in most computers.
