Honor Magic V3 might be the thinnest foldable smartphone to date, but the Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2 is the first tri-fold concept we’ve seen yet with TDDI technology. In seconds, the 6.48-inch screen can be expanded to a 10-inch LTPO OLED (1,620 x 2,880px resolution) screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
TDDI technology basically puts both the display driver and touch sensor on a single chip, which not only enables screen hovering, but helps it maintain an 11mm thick form factor when completely folded. It also features the smartphone industry’s thinnest battery cover, measuring a mere 0.25mm thick, thanks to a super compressed Titan Advanced Fiber material. There’s no word yet on pricing and availability.
