Rolls-Royce Ratrod

A team of mechanics have managed to transform a classic Rolls-Royce that was once owned by eccentric British aristocrat, Lord Tredegar, into the Rolls-Royce Rat Rod. Drawing inspiration from traditional rat rods, this machine has been fitted with a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 engine, enabling it to hit crazy speeds. In all, it took the crew three months to complete, with the frame being partially made out of aluminum, giving the rat rod a chrome-like finish. “Me, Jesse and Michael have driven the car and it’s quite scary to actually put your foot down on a car that has an aluminum frame, you don’t want to twist it. The car is very light, it weighs under a tonne. The power to weight ratio is something like a Ferrari, it’s unbelievable. You put your foot down and it’s actually quite scary because this thing is a power house,” said mechanic Sam Hard, 29, from Farnham, Hampshire.
