Threads by Instagram images first leaked back in May, but now, it’s officially launching in the US on July 6th to take on rival Twitter. The app is described as a way for communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what will be trending tomorrow, and most importantly for some, your Instagram username can be kept the same without having to register again.
You’ll still be able to follow and connect directly with your favorite users, just like on Instagram, all the while sharing your own ideas, opinions, as well as creativity withe the world. There will be a main feed that shows all posts made by users you follow, except for those that have already been blocked on Instagram. On a side note, does this app look eerily similar to ‘Project 92’? If so, that is because it was the codename given to this app before being called Threads. App Store pre-order page here.
