Images of Instagram’s Twitter competitor have allegedly been leaked, and it is referred to as a new text-based app for conversations. You won’t need a separate login, just use Instagram credentials. Once logged in, all of your followers, profile information, and verification is transferred over.
Unlike Twitter, this new text-based app will be compatible with other apps like Mastodon, as in users from their community will be able to search for, follow and interact with public profiles. Plus, accounts blocked on Instagram will be carried over to this new app. Meta has not confirmed when or if this app will be released to the public. However, the team did say they are exploring a standalone decentralized social network for sharing text updates.
