Tiny Intel 486 Computer Eric Retro Gaming
Technology enthusiast Eric Mackrodt, better known as The Eric Experiment, built a tiny Intel 486 computer from scratch, complete with a 3D-printed case as well as monitor. This project spanned 2-years and built around an Intel 486DX4 100Mhz processor, a Tseng Labs ET4000 SVGA graphics controller, and an SMC Ethernet card.



Sure, you won’t be able to play the latest games on it, but it does run Windows 3,11 / 95, DOS, and even a few games such as SimCity 2000, Lemmings, as well as The Dig. On a related note, did you know that The Dig is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Lucas Arts? The title featured a full voice-acting cast, including voice actors Robert Patrick and Steve Blum, along with a digital orchestral score. What set it apart from other games in 1995 was its combination of drawn two-dimensional artwork and limited, pre-rendered three-dimensional clips.
