This strange looking device is actually a wireless remote for your iPod. Basically, it’s “equipped with two-way RF communication that relays all your menus, playlists, and song titles (or in tech parlance, the “metadata”) right to the screen.” Product page. Available now for $180.

The TuneView dock welcomes all 4G and 5G iPods as well as nanos and minis, and connects to your system through line-level stereo and S-video outputs. Just pop a pair of AAs into the remote and you’re laffin’ — though we kind of wish it has a clickwheel like the iPod’s (probably some patent issues there)
