The Unitree H1 has become the first full-sized motor drive humanoid robot to successfully perform a backflip on the ground. This is possible thanks to Unitree’s M107 electric joint motors, each of which has 265.5 lb-ft of peak torque.
When the motors are combined with the legs, each having three degrees of freedom at the hip as well as one at the knee and another at the ankle, performing backflips for the H1 becomes second nature. You may have seen smaller robots perform the same feat, but keep in mind that H1 stands around 71 inches tall and weighs in at approximately 100 pounds.
