KTM AX Off-Road

When a supercar is crossed with an off-road dune buggy, the sleek KTM AX is the result. Designed by students and staff at FH Joanneum University in Austria, the AX is powered by a hybrid powertrain system that consists of four in-wheel electric motors to drive the wheels. Thanks to individually steerable wheels, plenty of ground clearance, reinforced tires and long travel suspension, it’s perfect for tackling sand dunes, or just about any rough terrain. “The frame of the KTM AX consists of a lightweight spaceframe structure into which the individual components are placed. The built in rollover protection is an additional safety feature for the two occupants,” according to Diseno-Art.
