Xbox and Prince Street Pizza Arm Gears of War Fans With a Prototype Lancer Cutter

Fans who grew up sawing Locust in half and arguing over Sicilian squares got the same announcement at once. Xbox and Prince St. Pizza put a limited-edition Gears of War Prototype Lancer pizza cutter on sale Monday for $60, then watched it sell out the same day on their official merch store.

Buyers receive a unique slicer inspired by early Lancers from Gears of War: E-Day, as well as a special code that unlocks an in-game pizza symbol. According to the official line, everything is designed around a precision-molded ABS frame (no solid metal gun here) and a food-grade stainless steel wheel that can roll right through Prince Street’s thick SoHo pies, so no messing with that. The grip is basically a copy of the Prototype Lancer’s handle so you don’t get sauce all over your knuckles, and the upper barrel can act as a second handhold if you need a little more control when cutting into that loaded pie, but Prince St. says hand wash only, it’s for adults only, and the blade will stay sharp, so keep it out of reach of the kids, as it only ships within the United States.

Calling it a Prototype Lancer for The Coalition helps keep the rifle in context, as you don’t want to have a chainsaw Lancer on hand right away on Emergence Day. According to series lore, the chainsaw Lancer appears approximately a year after the Locust break through. So, for a prequel, they chose an older bayonet-fitted type, and the same old design lives on in a kitchen gadget.


The Xbox Wire team framed this as part of a larger table-side campaign, as Prince St. stores in the United States and Toronto will be offering an Emergence Pie from September 28th to November 1st. Pie is a hot vodka sauce foundation topped with fresh mozzarella, heaped high with ground pepperoni and sausage, and finished with some Carbone Fine Food Aglio e Peperoncino Italian chili crisp, which sounds delicious.The boxes are straight out of the ruined city of Kalona, and each slice or pie comes with a promo card and a one-time code for the in-game pizza insignia. There’s also a separate rewards member giveaway going through October 5th; order a full Emergence Pie in-store or online for $46 and you’ll be entered to win one of 100 digital copies of E-Day, although third-party delivery is not eligible.


Gears of War: E-Day will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 6, with day one Game Pass access and a $100 premium edition that unlocks five days early. The campaign follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago through the early hours of the Locust outbreak before branching into Horde Siege and Versus. Pre-order rewards before October 6 include an Xbox gift card and Exfil skins. The cutter and pie are merchandise limited to that window, not boxed collector items. Anyone who missed the $60 run can still consume the pie until November 1 and get the emblem code while supplies remain.
