Sure, Alef Aeronautics’ Model A has received FAA certification, but XPENG AEROHT’s ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’ modular flying car has already successfully completed its first public flight. As you can already tell, this vehicle consists of two modules: the ground and air sections.
The ground module, called the “Mothership”, boasts a tri-axle, six-wheel design, offering 6×6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering to enhance off-road capability. As for the air module, or flying car, it features a six-rotor, dual-duct configuration, complete with a carbon fiber structure for lightweight, yet ultra durable strength, and a 270° panoramic cockpit. The aircraft offers both manual and autonomous flight modes, along with a single-stick control system.
