On January 4, 2013, Sony announced that the PlayStation 2 had been discontinued after 12 years of production – one of the longest runs of all time for a video game console. Despite the announcement, new games for the console continue to be produced including Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin and the upcoming FIFA 14. Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 console the following month on February 20, 2013.
