A new chapter is unfolding in Sharjah with Khalid Bin Sultan City, an innovative project from Zaha Hadid Architects and the BEEAH Group. It stretches across a 1.5-kilometer expanse near Sharjah International Airport.
The seven vibrant neighborhood are all located around a central plaza. These are organic, flowing clusters linked by shaded paths. At the city’s heart lies a two-kilometer “linear oasis”, or in other words, a verdant park dotted with sculpture gardens, tranquil ponds, and courtyards. “This park is the soul of the community, a place where people can step outside, connect, and truly live,” said the ZHA team.

Solar panels collect energy, recycled water nourishes lush greenery, and AI quietly optimizes everything from traffic to energy use. Instead of noisy streets filled with cars, you’ll find pathways shaded by plants and buildings. “We’re building a city that works with the environment, not against it,” BEEAH declares.
Tucked beside BEEAH’s iconic, dune-like headquarters—a 2022 ZHA masterpiece—the northern edge hosts a creative hub poised to light up Sharjah’s cultural and economic scene. This hub shares space with a modern mosque, a sports complex, and a bustling shopping center. The city is planned to have around 1,500 homes, including villas, townhouses, and apartments.
With Sharjah’s property market set to surge 32% annually through 2025, this city arrives at just the right moment. BEEAH’s decade-long plan, starting with the park and infrastructure, prioritizes care over haste. “This will be a destination that inspires,” BEEAH promises, and it’s hard not to feel the pull of a city that balances heritage, innovation, and the simple joy of living well.
