After hiring a consultant to help him determine an appropriate site for his project, Walt bought a 160-acre (65 ha) site near Anaheim in 1953. According to YouTube user kingsfordish, “A few days after the dedication of Disneyland, these scenes were recorded on 8-mm film using a Revere Model 55 movie camera. The images offer a look at the park before the Submarine Voyage, Skyway, Matterhorn, and Monorail System were built. Attractions that have been lost to time include the Rocket to the Moon, Chicken of the Sea Pirate Restaurant, and the Stage Coach Depot where Walt Disney was on hand to welcome guests.”
