Unconventional, yet extremely rare and sought after by automobile collectors, just twelve examples of the 1939 GM Futurliner were made. This particular example has a mere 12,345 miles on the odometer and located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
GM Futurliners were basically a line of custom vehicles styled in the 1940s by Harley Earl for General Motors. Measuring 33 feet long, 8 feet wide, over 11 feet tall, this vintage truck weighs more than 12 tons. Each Futurliner boasts heavily stylized art deco, streamlined bodywork, deep red side / white roof paint, and large articulated chrome side panels. Power comes from a military-grade 302 cubic inch GMC straight-six gasoline engine, mated to an automatic transmission. Interested parties can check it out here.
