The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro SSV is the world’s first purpose-built electric pickup truck for police. Not only will this vehicle help lower costs, drive efficiency and accelerate customers’ sustainability goals, but also includes police-grade heavy-duty cloth seats, built-in steel intrusion plates as well as roof-mounted LED warning beacons.
This Pro Special Service Vehicle (SSV) is designed to handle specialized departmental needs outside of pursuit situations, like assisting at an accident or crime scene, while giving departments the ability to tow a boat or trailer. Other features include: a Mega Power Frunk with 14.1 cubic feet of lockable cargo area in the front, a 220-amp DC-DC power source. and a 12-inch digital cluster screen as well as a 12-inch landscape-style touchscreen on the center stack. Speaking of the police, this long range acoustic device technology is also a handy tool available to law enforcement officers.
