Sleek and incredibly fast, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is touted as the world’s most powerful muscle car, or at least from the factory. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine making 1,025 hp and 945 lb-ft of torque on E85 ethanol, mated to a TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in a mere 1.66 seconds.
To achieve this level of power, the SRT Demon 170 has a modified 3.0-liter supercharger upgraded with a larger snout with 105mm throttle body, and 3.02-inch pulley that increases boost pressure 40% over its predecessor, the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody, to 21.3psi. Plus, 315/50R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials and Mickey Thompson 245/55R18 ET Street front tires ensure all that extra power is kept on the ground whether it be at the track or on the street. It will be limited to 3,300-units (3,000 for the US and 300 for Canada) and priced at $96,666 USD, with production beginning this summer.

To celebrate the end of the HEMI muscle-car era, we pulled off all the governors to reach a new level, a new benchmark of ‘factory-crazy’ production car performance. In 2015, Dodge shocked the world with the 707-horsepower Hellcat. Then, in 2018, we did it with the 840-horsepower Demon, and now we are doing it again with the 1,025-horsepower Demon 170, the world’s first sustainable-energy, eight-second, factory-production, street-legal muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis.
