We probably won’t see the Kia Concept EV2 anytime soon, but the 2026 Kia EV4 officially made its New York International Auto Show debut today. Featuring Kia’s “Opposites United” design with a sleek, sporty look, including a low nose, long tail, roof spoiler, slim LED headlights, and a “Star Map” lighting signature.
This is Kia’s first all-electric sedan and built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 400-volt architecture, positioning it as a compact, affordable competitor to the Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and Volkswagen ID.3. The base Light model will have a single electric motor (FWD) producing 201 horsepower and approximately 229 lb-ft of torque, with a 58.3 kWh battery pack boasting an estimated range of ~250–280 miles (EPA). No detailed information has yet been released about the GT-Line and Wind trims, though you can expect an 81.4 kWh battery offering 300+ miles (EPA) of range.

Step inside, and the first thing you’ll notice is its 30-inch panoramic display, which integrates three screens seamlessly across the dashboard. Plus, it has a ‘Theater Mode’, which optimizes the 30-inch display, interior mood lighting, and audio system for an immersive viewing experience, ideal for watching movies or shows when parked using ‘Vehicle Smart TV’ (YouTube, Disney+, Netflix, etc.).
As for the Tesla Model 3, its main competitor, it delivers superior performance (279–510 hp, 2.8–5.8 sec 0–60 mph) on paper, longer EPA range (272–363 miles), and faster charging (250 kW, ~20–25 min) thanks to its 800-volt architecture and Supercharger network. Its minimalist interior and advanced driver assistance (optional Full Self-Driving) cater to tech-savvy performance enthusiasts who want an EV now, though it lacks Apple CarPlay.
Kia’s Digital Key 2.0 provides simple access to the vehicle via a compatible smartphone or mobile device, enabling remote functions such as door lock / unlock, and climate controls, from the comfort of home, office or on approach. Production for US models is expected to begin in late 2025 at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea. Pricing is set to start around $35,000 to $40,000 for the base model, with higher trims (GT-Line, etc.) potentially reaching $45,000–$52,000.
