Kelly Bise and the KBR Team managed to set a new standing mile top speed record with their 2,200 C6 Corvette. More specifically, the LS-powered Chevrolet Corvette record at the ECTS Motorsports Top Speed Event in Arkansas.
This 3,880-pound vehicle isn’t a race car, as in it still has a full interior, complete with air conditioning and radio. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 7.0L LSX V8 engine with twin 200 injectors per cylinder, mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. With a bit more tuning, we wouldn’t be surprised if it exceeds 264 mph next time around, as it managed to pass the half-mile mark at a blistering 216.138 mph.
