What you’re looking at above is not a museum or art exhibit, just the Stuttgart Public Library, also known as the Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart. From 1965 on, the Central Library of Stuttgart has been located in the Wilhelmspalais in Stuttgart. This building was built 1834 – 1840 by Giovanni Salucci. It was the place of residence of King Wilhelm II. In 2011 the Central library moved to the newly built Stadtbibliothek am Mailander Platz. There is a various departments, including: a children’s books section, music library, art library, information literacy, information for the elderly, administrative and so on.
