Sure, there was Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage for the Super NES and SEGA Genesis back in 1994, but there really hasn’t been any open world games based on the sentient alien symbiote on modern game consoles. TeasePlay shows us what an open world Venom game would look like if Marvel used Unreal Engine 5 to develop the title.
On the bright side, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 by Insomniac Games is set t for release on the PlayStation 5 next year. This game features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as its main playable protagonists, while Venom, along with Kraven the Hunter, are the game’s primary antagonists. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when we can expect a game on the PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, etc., where you can play as Eddie Brock and then transform into Venom at any moment.
